The short answer: book as soon as your date is confirmed.
A wedding content creator can only be in one place on one day. The moment your venue and date are confirmed, your content creator's diary is the next thing to sort. Not because the market is overcrowded, but because the best dates go quickly and securing your booking costs only a deposit.
The sweet spot for most couples is six to twelve months in advance. This gives enough time for a proper pre-wedding planning call, a content strategy conversation, and the kind of relaxed preparation that makes the day itself run smoothly. For summer Saturdays in peak season, earlier is better.
If your date is already close — say, under three months away — that is covered too. Scroll down to the last-minute section.
When do peak wedding dates fill up?
Peak wedding season in the UK runs from May to September. Saturdays in June, July and August are the most in-demand dates every year. These dates fill earlier than any other. Popular summer Saturdays — including dates like Saturday 22 May 2027 and Saturday 12 June 2027 — already pull strong early interest from couples planning ahead.
In practical terms, this means a June Saturday can be gone twelve months before the wedding. An October Friday might still be available six weeks out. The gap between peak and off-peak availability is significant.
Here is a rough guide to booking windows by date type:
- Peak season Saturday (May–September): book 9–12 months in advance. Earlier if possible.
- Bank holiday weekend: treat these like peak Saturdays. They fill fast.
- Off-peak Saturday (October–April): 6–9 months is usually safe.
- Weekday wedding, any season: 3–6 months is typically fine.
- Last-minute (under 3 months): enquire immediately — availability depends on what is still open.
These are guidelines, not guarantees. The only way to know if your date is available is to check availability directly.
Why are 2027 bookings already opening now?
Because couples who have already booked their venue are locking in their full supplier team at the same time. This is the normal pattern of the wedding industry. Venues book first, then photographers, then the rest of the team follows in the weeks after.
Wedding planning timelines are also getting longer. UK couples are regularly planning 18 to 24 months ahead, particularly for popular venues and preferred suppliers. If you have booked a summer 2027 wedding at Stanbrook Abbey or Birtsmorton Court, you are likely already looking at suppliers now.
At Wedding Day Moments, 2027 dates are already being enquired about. This matters because 2026 introductory pricing does not carry over into 2027. Couples who book now for a 2027 wedding lock in the 2026 rate. The pricing will increase for 2027 bookings made after that point.

What happens when you book?
Booking a wedding content creator is straightforward. You enquire with your date and venue. Availability is confirmed within 24 hours. A 20% non-refundable deposit secures the date. The remaining balance is due four weeks before the wedding.
After booking, there is a pre-wedding content planning call — usually around four to six weeks before the day. This is where we go through the timeline, discuss priority moments, talk through the package, and answer any questions. Nothing else is needed from you until that point.
Everything is agreed in writing before the day. Delivery timescales are confirmed in the contract: raw gallery within 24 hours, edited Reels within 48 to 72 hours.

What if my date is less than three months away?
Enquire now. Do not assume it is too late.
Last-minute bookings are possible, and some dates that feel close still have availability. The wedding industry has adapted to shorter planning timescales: a notable portion of UK weddings — particularly smaller and weekday weddings — are now planned within twelve weeks of the date. Suppliers have adjusted to this.
For Wedding Day Moments, a short-notice enquiry is handled the same way as any other. You will hear back within 24 hours with availability. If the date is available, booking follows the same process: deposit, planning call, delivery on the day.
The one thing that changes with a late booking is the planning call timeline. Instead of six weeks before the wedding, it happens sooner after booking. Everything else stays the same.
If your date is gone, I will say so honestly. There is no benefit to either of us in a double booking.
Does it matter if I already have a photographer or videographer?
No — and this is a common misconception. A wedding content creator works alongside your photographer and videographer, not instead of them. The three suppliers are not in competition. They capture completely different things.
Your photographer focuses on the formal shots. Your videographer, if you have one, is building a cinematic film. I am capturing everything else — the candid reactions, the spontaneous moments, the content that exists between the posed shots.
In fact, a pre-wedding conversation between the content creator and photographer is standard practice. It ensures no clashes on the day and means everyone knows the timeline. Alice at Wedding Day Moments spent several years as a second photographer, so this coordination is second nature.
